Andrew love ya work, would you consider doing Ytube LIVE Q&A's ? (even just a 'members only' sorta thing at least ???) ... and maybe similar meet-ups in Japan ?
I'm going to start doing paid consultations before the end of the year. Lives are a bit tricky right now for reasons, though I'd like to do some in the future. I'll have a look at my schedule though and see if something is possible on a monthly basis.
I enjoyed reading your article. I agree with all of it, but I especially think many tourists flying via Narita may not be aware that nearby there is the Narita-san temple complex. Getting close to your airport of departure well in advance is definitely good advice!
Yes, definitely a bunch of things to do not far from Narita Airport. My favourite thing in Chiba Prefecture though is Nokogiriyama. Good choice for a last day day trip and then just stay close to Narita at night.
Great stuff! I live near Kyoto (8 years now). A friend wanted to visit and do everything in 1 day...I straight up told them they couldn't do it, they tried anyway and ended up admitting I was right lol.
All excellent points! Thankfully, due to travelling with the help of a travel agency and fantastic guides, I didn’t make any of the above mistakes last year…unless you count visiting Tokyo and Kyoto (which I don’t, for a first timer in Japan)…but I went off the beaten track as well. However the agency (and I) made the HUGE mistake of travelling over a three-day public holiday! Never again. That really was a nightmare. I lost a day to what should have been maybe three hours travel, was crammed into packed trains well outside rush hour and had water spilt over me by some very apologetic giggly girls!
And oddly for a country girl at heart, I fell in love with Tokyo but not Kyoto! The sites in Kyoto were amazing but too full of tourists like me. 😂

Exactly!
Lived there 3 years and been back countless times.
Still not finished. It's an impossible task!
Hahaha 'Double Frappalappa Bambachino'
Great advice, especially about allocating time between Tokyo and Kyoto!
Thank you!
I'm looking forward to sharing my favourite hidden gem attractions next month, so save some time for them on your trip!
Did you do the Tokyo Toilet tour?
