Who’s Andrew?

I’m originally from England, but I’ve lived in Japan for quite some time now. Long enough to visit every one of the 47 prefectures (can you name them all?) Actually, I completed this task in 2017, and since then we’re up in the region of multiple visits. Friends often joke that it would be quicker for me to tell them where I haven’t been.

My favourite things

• Trains are obviously the best form of transport, and my favourite is anything on the Hankyu Railway in Kansai.

• Oirase Mountain Stream in Aomori is my favourite place.

• My favourite museum is Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park) in Hokkaido.

• My favourite season for travel is autumn.

• My favourite piece of travel advice is: “You’re spending 2 weeks in Tokyo and only 2 days in Kyoto. Swap them around and profit.”
